Interview with Monetha’s Co-Founder | Andrej
Tell us a bit more about your professional background? How did you get into a technology development?
I understood the power of technology in my school days when I was writing small programs in Basic to verify answers to my math and physics assignments at school. This laid my path to continue studies in Computer Science.
Started my career as a software engineer at the second year in university to begin gaining practice and real life business experience as early as possible.
First job was to create order management application for field workers: no 3G connection, PALM PC, … It was a crazy experience as we were a very small team on a tight schedule.
I was striving to solve complex problems and was driven by challenges which brought me to Adform where I had a chance to grow the development team from 36 to 300+, introduce new technologies and ways of work to support fast growth.
Also, through my career I learned that not only technology expertise and knowledge are important, but also how you approach problems, people, work environment and change.
What do you love about making an exceptional product?
The path, which is full of data driven experiments and adjustments, from vague idea to implementing something that people love and use to solve their problems.
What is your philosophy behind building companies with great technology?

What brought you to Monetha? What is your main goal in building the product?
Initial driver for joining Monetha was a blockchain technology, which was something that I wasn’t aware of earlier. The more time I spent studying it, the more excited I became about its potential. The concept of de-centralized and shared storage where security and privacy is ensured by cryptography is just amazing and opens possibilities to improve many areas.
The topic we picked is reputation in commerce. We are aiming to use distributed ledger to ensure that trust and reputation is not manipulated, but is transparent, transferable and nothing except users’ behavior can impact it (improve or reduce). This will help users to make informed decisions if/how to make a deal with another person: set an escrow, buy insurance, be more specific on deal conditions, what to expect during the claim and etc.
Any funny/interesting stories that you can share from your time in Monetha?
I am a very serious guy, so no funny stories from my side. Work hard, party hard. ☺
